About Courtenay was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where she currently resides. She was introduced to racing in her mid-twenties, later than most, but quickly rose the ranks in Cyclocross. She is a 2x USA World Championship team member in Cyclocross and multiple top 5 finisher at Cyclocross Nationals and Pan American Championships. Courtenay has overcome many obstacles over the years having recovered from 2 hip surgeries. She has been an inspiration to others with her tenacity and perseverance by overcoming injury to continue to perform at the top of the sport.
